The Bear Pub, Bridgnorth

The Bear is a family-run pub in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, which has been lovingly restored by licensee Kim, a former language teacher, her husband Phil, a retired police officer with 30 years service, and son Chris, a Business Management Graduate.

Originally a Coaching Inn, The Bear has been transformed into a modern inn whilst still retaining many of the original features including a host of exposed beams. With a pint of one of our fine ales you could easily think that you were back in the days of horse drawn carriages!

There are two well furnished bars with a Restaurant/ Lounge that benefits from comfortable leather sofas and a public bar that has a 42" television, as well as a state-of-the-art darts board.

An extensive menu of freshly prepared food is available throughout the day including a special 'Best of British' Sunday Lunch. Traditional and Continental Breakfasts are available from 9.00am.

We are proud to announce that The Bear has recently been awarded 5 stars for Food Hygiene (the highest rating) by Shropshire County Council.

» The Bear Pub is open every day from 9.00am until late.

Tastefully furnished with comfortable leather sofas and tub chairs and well coordinated with colourful cushions, pictures and mirrors. Combined with the lovely inglenook fireplace, The Polar Bear Bar is a great place to relax and it's no surprise that customers and guests love to spend time here.

Lounge & Dining Area

The well lit lounge and dining area has comfortable leather seating with low coffee tables and dining tables and chairs. Here you can relax in peaceful surroundings with good company and dine with a selection of food from our menus and fine ales to choose from.

The Garden

At the Bear there is a large garden with several covered areas for those that do not like to sit in the sun, including a large gazebo under which we have several wrought iron tables and chairs. This area leads on to the safe, enclosed play area in which there are swings, a slide, a Bob the Builder sand table and a playhouse - perfect for keeping the children entertained.

Through the gate is a recently enclosed landscaped garden, perfect for watching our hens and ducks. We currently have 2 Aylesbury ducks, Quackers and Jemima 1 Indian Runner duck called Pumpkin 6 Rare Breed Hens and 6 rapidly growing chicks.

If you are staying for a night or more don't forget to ask for a duck egg with your breakfast if you would like to try one.
